At the “Implementation of an auctions system for renewable energy projects (RES): Taking into account interests and support of Ukrainian enterprises and market participants in RES” roundtable, held on 11 October 2018 in Kiev, the Centre for Global Studies “Strategy XXI” (CGSS21) presented ENABLE.EU’s key results and recommendations for research on prosumers and governance barriers in the field of renewable sources of energy in Ukraine.
Vitalii Martyniuk, the project’s senior researcher, presented conclusions and proposals from the “Case study report on governance barriers to the energy transition. Country report – UKRAINE” and “Prosumer Case Study – UKRAINE” to the round table’s participants, which included the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and other national players in the RES market. Among other issues, participants of the roundtable discussed the future of “green tariffs” (an auction system for RES), the development of the RES market, obstacles and possibilities for new RES producers and investors, and ways to reach an 11% level of RES in Ukraine by 2020, according to officially declared targets. The event was organised by the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
